I started this site because I was diagnosed with diabetes type 2.   My diabetes is what is called Steroid Diabetes and is a direct result of the incredible amounts of steroids I have taken to control my asthma.  Therefore, this site is a sister site for my Surviving Asthma site.

Claudia Maria Arevalo-Lowe, my best friend, beloved wife and soul-mate passed away on February 1st, 2005 at 10:37 am PST after a 10 year-long fight with asthma, diabetes and complications from her medications. I miss her terribly, as she was the most special being I've ever known.
